#onebouquetperday by Juliane - flowers and elegance

onebouqetperday.jpg

Hello people! Do you remember that my blogpost from last year about my friend Juliane from the blog fröken skicklig, a German expat living in Sweden. When she moved to her new house in 2013, she decided to use Instagram and her love for pretty things to discover the flora in her new garden and surroundings. She set herself the challenge to do one bouquet everyday and post a photo of each of them on Instagram with the hashtag #onebouquetperday. She had quite a few followers and people would joined in 2014 and I even joined when I spent a month in France in May.

I am so looking forward to the 2015 edition and to see what bouquets she will come up with!

It's exactly the kind of bouquets and pictures I like:

simple, small, natural and wild.

In the collage above, you only see some of them and I love the moody compositions and the fact that you alway see Juliane's hands in the picture and that a great attention is paid to the colour of the background in each picture.

Have a nice day everyone. I am off to the design fair Maison & Objet. I will gather some impressions about the new collections of the interior brands I like and hopefully make some new discoveries. I will be meeting a lot of old friends this weekend anyway and I am really looking forward to it.

xoxo

madame love loves: Le repère des belettes

le-repere-des-belettes.jpg

Hello everyone!I hope you are doing well! Here the sun is shinning a little bit more this morning and everything already feels easier. On top of that, the furniture trade show Maison & Objets is taking place and I am so excited about it. I will attend it and have the opportunity to meet up with lovely bloggers and stylists I met last spring in Pernes les Fontaines at the Joyeuse Clique styling workshop.  Today I would like to tell you about this wonderfully curated French eshop called "RepèRe des BeleTtes" (the weasels' house) as part of my madame love loves series. This shop is much more than a virtual market place and all the objects are wonderfully styled, so you can easily imagine how they would look like in your home.  The selection of objects (new as well as vintage) is very simple and really fit into the colour palette I like in decoration. A lot of grey and neutral hues.  The lovely ladies running the RepèRe des BeleTtes are based near Paris, but they ship internationally and the site is also available in English.  I wish you a great day! first anemones of 2015 - first bouquet of the year

bouquet-of-anemones1.jpg

bouquet of anemones Good morning everyone! Here is my first bouquet for you this year. Thank you for your comments here and on Instagram about my 2014 bouquets. It gives me the energy to continue making them and sharing them with you here. I chose a simple multicolour bouquet of anemones. I also like the simplicity of white anemones but those little colourfull bouquets remind me of my childhood. I am still not really installed and settled in my new life and I have to fight quite a bit with several administrations in France and in Germany. I hope it will all be okay soon and I will find the way back to blog and to flower styling. I wish you all a great day! Elodie

my year 2014 with flowers

Collage Wildflowers madamelove 2014 Hello my little flowers, 2014 has been a tough year in many ways. We so much wanted a change in the summer, that when the news came that my husband got a job in Paris, we decided to move countries within two months and organise everything while both working.  We managed but those months before the move and the two months since we arrived have been exhausting and I haven't had much time for blogging. I have been a little hard on myself lateLx. I was not very proud of myself and about what I have been doing with the blog in the past months.  But then, I decided to look back on 2014 and on the bouquets I made this year and I was pretty happy.

I made some little collages to show you my flowers from 2014 - A reason for me to look back at 2014 with a smile (the other reason is of course my lovely daughter) and to look forward to lots of new flowers in 2015.

Some of the bouquets I will show you made it to the blog, and some only to my kitchen table, but they all helped me to forget my little worries and express my creativity.

The first one on top are my wildflowers bouquets, I made them at my parent's place and at my parent's in laws place in May as well as in Italy in August. Those ones are my roses bouquets - with roses from the market in Hamburg, from the flower shops and roses from my mum's garden.

Those ones are my pink bouquets - I don't like pink in decoration or in fashion, but I use this colour a lot for my bouquets - with my lovely tulips I picked in a flower farm in Holland, or some hellebores from my parent's garden.

my year in pink

Those ones are my blue bouquets. Blue is a more unusual colour in nature and looks always very pretty in a vase. I love to combine blue and yellow flowers. The first little bouquet is a simple bouquet of myosotis, I made in May in France. They are so precious and so lovely to photograph. The one on the bottom left, I really love with the white lilies and the blue delphiniums.

Here are my red bouquets. I love to combine red with pink and I love red roses, red carnation and red anemones that look and feel like silk.

Those are probably my favorite: Flowers from the garden! My favourite bouquet this year was probably this one.

And last but not least: My mini bouquets. I love everything miniature. I love mini vases. And I love making a mini version of a bigger bouquet. mini bouquet

I wish you all a very relaxing Christmas time with you family and friends.

What about you? What do you see about 2014 when you look back? How as been you year with family, with friends, with travels, with your favourite designers, with your favourite cookies... If you want to tell me, just create a little collage with your 2014 highlights and tag me on Instagram (@madame_love) and use the hashtag #myyear2014with

A misty day in the North of France and my first Steller story

rose_with_rain_dropsHello everyone, I spent last week end at my parents' place and it was very misty cold and wet. I stopped raining for a little bit on Sunday morning and I went out with my camera and my niece and took those pictures. I wanted to show you how beautiful a garden can be even a less attractive season, when everything is grey or brown and almost nothing is blooming.

I also took my iphone with me and made a Steller Story out of it - Steller is an Iphone storytelling App, and I love it. It was my fist story but definitely not the last one. My user name is madame_love - you can follow me here.

Have a great day! Elodie

Getting in the Christmas mood - my article in Blossomzine

Xmas_Räder_9 Hello everyone! Today is December 1st. Time to get a little bit in the mood for Christmas! Today I would like to share with you a little Christmas decoration idea I styled for the last issue of the brilliant online flower magazine Blossomzine. You can find my contribution here

ISSUU Winter issue blossom zine by Blossom zine

Christmas means magic to me and I love to have a white Christmas. Yes, I know we are not lucky every year, but every now and then, we have snow for Christmas and I just love it! If this winter is not cold enough, you can still recreate a white Christmas at home on your dining table or on a cabinet in your living room. I was very inspired when I discovered the little animals, mushrooms and pine cones from the German decoration company Räder. I wanted to recreate a little enchanted forest in my living room.  I wanted to keep my decor as white as possible and worked with dried white heather and added some golden sparkle to make it more christmassy. You can recreate this decor on a cabinet in your living room or on your Christmas table.

The animals can be purchased here. Thank you very much to Räder for supporting this blogpost.

first bouquet from my garden

campanula_muralis_2 Hello! Ok, maybe I can't really call it a bouquet. So let's call it a mini-bouquet, or miniature bloom.  Those campanula muralis are the last flowers in my garden and they look really cute in a little vase.  My garden need a lot of work and I will see how much I will manage before the frost. It is so humid at the moment and I am alone with Ella, so it is a bit difficult to work in the garden, but I will still be planting some flowers to be able to make some bouquets with FLOWERS FROM MY GARDEN - Yeah! in the spring. campanula_muralisclochettes violettesI wish you all  a great day!  Speak to you soon with some Christmas inspiration. Parenthèse urbaine in Paris {urban bracket}

maison_bastille Hello world! I hope you are all doing fine! I must say, my life hasn't been that easy or glamorous since we moved to France. So much to unpack, organise etc... so many phone calls and emails with different administrations in France and in Germany, and that feeling to have forgotten a very important deadline all the time.  On the other hand, I don't regret the decision we made, for one second and as my husband keeps repeating: "nobody ever said, that an international move with a baby would be easy!". Paris_is_always_a_good_idea The Parenthèse Urbaine, I attended last Sunday, has been a highlight in my parisian life so far. This afternoon tea was organised by two lovely sisters (they made me think of my dear sisterMAG friends Thea and Toni) : Mathilde and Marie. The idea behind the event, is to make people, who usually only meet and share their passion on social networks, such as Instagram, meet in real life, with a nice cup of tea and a piece of cake in a magical place, that is kept secret until the event takes place, somewhere in Paris. pompomsThis second edition took place in a little tearoom called Maison Bastille, a lovely place, situated in the 11th district of Paris. The event was also a way to introduce some French designers to the participants. The designers were all attending the event, were showing their work in the café and helped with the decoration and set up. parenthese_urbaine_homemade_marshmallows parenthese_urbaine_outside

parenthese_urbaine_2 parenthese_urbaine_ananas parenthese_urbaine_pompoms It was a really good beak from my current every life. I met some lovely ladies, I hope I will stay in touch with. Some I already know, I will be meeting next Sunday at "Creation et Savoir Faire", the French DIY fair, organised by Marie-Claire Idee. I hope I will find more time in the coming weeks, to be back more regularly on the blog with some flowers, decoration ideas, and maybe some pictures of my new home! I wish you all a nice evening! Elodie

we are in France!

first flowers - anemones, sophora, hydrangea Hello everyone!

Just a quick note to tell you that we are in France now. Safe and sound.  The move has been pretty challenging and we are still living out of boxes, but we are happy and I am trying to work out how I will arrange the garden. I found a pretty little flower shop around the corner, and I will be back on the blog more regularly soon.  I am going to my first French blogging event in Paris this afternoon. I will be showing you the pictures on the blog and on Instagram soon.

Have a great day everyone!
