This a shooting I did last year, but have been waiting for the right time to show it to you. When I bought this gorgeous hydrangea head at the flower shop I instantly fell in love. Those green and purple ones are my favorite. I bought a little flower press before living Germany and I use it a lot. I know you can press flowers and leaves in books, but I always loose them and forget I which book I left them. Hydrangea are just the perfect flowers, and the more I play with them, the more I like them. They look beautiful in the garden, in a vase as table decoration, or as a wreath. But maybe it is pressed that I like them most. I love their texture and colours and they look so pretty in a transparent frame, such as this one from the British brand nkuku. I hope I inspired you a little bit today. I hope I will be more on the blog in the coming weeks and months. I have got a lots of plans and ideas anyway!

How time flies, I realise today we are already in december and I still haven't posted the pictures from my autumnal shooting with les herbes de Paris.
At the end of October I invited my florist friends Jefferson and Julie Pomme to my parent's place in Picardy to play around with flowers. We started the day with a walk in the garden and the forest to pick flowers, branches and fruits. After lunch, we spent the afternoon making bouquets and flower wreaths. I mostly photographed and they made the bouquets. Very unusual for me, but it was very interesting for me to step back for once and concentrate on one task. My mum was worried that there wouldn't be enough flowers to play with, but on the contrary it was just perfect! There were still a couple of incredibly big dahlias and tiny roses and so much variety of foliage and branches in a beautiful colour palette, that you only find in autumn.
It was my second photo shooting with "les herbes de Paris". The first one has been featured in the last issue of sister-mag and they taught me how to make flower wreaths last Saturday.

Hello everyone!
I am on holiday this week. Yeah! The best way to start your holiday or a day off is with a long breakfast and a pretty breakfast table.
It is almost the end of the hydrangea season and I decided to decorate the table with a little plant in a cup. So pretty and simple and so easy to replant afterwards.
Wednesday is bank holiday here in France, so it might be a good idea if you are invited for a brunch to bring a mini-hydrangea in a pretty enameled cup as gift.

Hello!I am back tonight with another bouquet from last weekend. I am still using the Pierre de Ronsard roses from my mum's garden but I decided to mix them with some irises that are growing next to the pond. I usually try to stick to one colour scheme when I make my bouquets and avoid mixing blues and pinks. but I really think it works in this arrangement.

I like the contrast between the colours and also between the length of the stems. I also added some blue aquilegia to enhance the irises.

Hello everyone,The trouble when you come back from a lovely weekend with more than 500 flower pic on your memory card is take it takes you ages to view them, select the best ones and edit them to post on the blog when you get back. The good thing is that you have no regret and it feels you with good vibes. I was telling Mr. Love yesterday night that the only thing I can see when I close my eyes is petals and flowers. Hello Everyone,
It's a long time since I have found or taken the time to write a blogpost. I still take lots of photos and still make lots of bouquets but somehow, with my little family, my full time job and my 2 hours commuting time every day, I don't know anymore when to blog.
Maybe I should rebrand my little online space or start thinking about new projects to find some new motivation for the blog. In fact I have been working on a new visual identity for madame love with a designer friend for some time now, but I need to stick to it and advance on that project too!
Well well, enough about my little "etats d'ame" as the French would say and back to my blogpost.
Today, I would like to show you a lovely flowershop I visited when I was in Brussels a couple of weeks ago with Mr. Love. This shop is situated in the Marolles district of Brussels, on the square where the gorgeous fleamarket takes place every Sunday. It is called La Frénésie and it is full with lovely vintage decoration and pretty flowers.
I love visiting flower shops when I go on holiday somewhere and show you the pictures here.

I publish less on the blog lately, mainly due to a busy schedule, but I am still making bouquets and enjoying it. I just come back from a very relaxing weekend at my parent's place and I have been playing with flowers and with my camera between two showers all weekend. I will show you some pictures of the garden just after the rain later this week, as I am obsessed with the beauty of rain drops, but first, let me show you my little hellebores and lilac bouquet.

Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well! The week is already a bit old, but today I would like to show you the flowers I shot at home on Sunday. The weather was cold but very sunny and I enjoyed the nap of the little miss to make a bouquet and do my first open air shooting at home in the garden. It was very enjoyable! I decided to mix different flowers but to stick to one colour: purple. I really like monochrome bouquets - sticking to one colour and playing with shapes and palettes. I think, that way, you notice better the different colours of the scabiosa and of the heart of the anemone. For this bouquet, I chose:

Hello everyone,
As I told you yesterday, I would like to show you another way to use mimosa. Not at the opulent flower that can live on its own, but as a perfect flower for miniature bouquets. I love the combination with the blue hortensia.
If you have many little vases, or even shot glasses, this can make a lovely table decoration with one individual mini bouquet in front of each plate.
So! What do you think? Do you prefer to go big or small with mimosa.

Hello everyone!
Flowers are expensive in Paris. This is not a secret. So until my garden starts to properly bloom, I decided to make bouquets with some flowers I never arranged before (always exciting!).
I found those waxflowers (also called Chamelaucium) on the market for only 6 € the bunch.
I cut them very short and took out the leaves to make some mini bouquets with them and mixed them with some helebores and green from the garden. The waxflower originates from Australia and is very resistant. The name comes from the waxy feel of its petals. I like them and I think they are pretty suitable for mini bouquets and a pretty table decoration.

Hello people! Do you remember that my blogpost from last year about my friend Juliane from the blog fröken skicklig, a German expat living in Sweden. When she moved to her new house in 2013, she decided to use Instagram and her love for pretty things to discover the flora in her new garden and surroundings. She set herself the challenge to do one bouquet everyday and post a photo of each of them on Instagram with the hashtag #onebouquetperday. She had quite a few followers and people would joined in 2014 and I even joined when I spent a month in France in May.
I am so looking forward to the 2015 edition and to see what bouquets she will come up with!
It's exactly the kind of bouquets and pictures I like:
simple, small, natural and wild.
In the collage above, you only see some of them and I love the moody compositions and the fact that you alway see Juliane's hands in the picture and that a great attention is paid to the colour of the background in each picture.

Here is my first bouquet for you this year. Thank you for your comments here and on Instagram about my 2014 bouquets. It gives me the energy to continue making them and sharing them with you here.
I chose a simple multicolour bouquet of anemones. I also like the simplicity of white anemones but those little colourfull bouquets remind me of my childhood.
I am still not really installed and settled in my new life and I have to fight quite a bit with several administrations in France and in Germany. I hope it will all be okay soon and I will find the way back to blog and to flower styling.
