The smell of the garden just after the rain
As I couldn't capture it, I decided to capture some rain drops on the flowers and plants from my mum's garden for you.
Have a great day! Elodie
Lilac and hellebores - a pink bouquet
Hello everyone, I publish less on the blog lately, mainly due to a busy schedule, but I am still making bouquets and enjoying it. I just come back from a very relaxing weekend at my parent's place and I have been playing with flowers and with my camera between two showers all weekend. I will show you some pictures of the garden just after the rain later this week, as I am obsessed with the beauty of rain drops, but first, let me show you my little hellebores and lilac bouquet. Have a relaxing week everyone! Thank god, this is going to be a short one! Elodie

Ranunculus and hortensia
Hello! This is the end of the weekend and even if it has been a little bit challenging with the mini, I feel like a little of a Sunday evening blues. I think the best cure for that are flowers. So here comes a mini bouquet to think of when it is getting a little bit tough this week. xoxo Elodie
Hellebores from the garden
Hello everyone, I don't have as much time as I would like to, to blog since I started my new job in February, but I still keep some time for myself to make bouquets and photography them at the weekend: This is my way to relax and forget about my little worries and anxieties. I made this bouquet at my parent's place in Picardy with all the flowers I could find in the garden:
Hellebores Ivy and Heather
I wish you all a great day! Elodie
monochrome bouquet: purple!
Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well! The week is already a bit old, but today I would like to show you the flowers I shot at home on Sunday. The weather was cold but very sunny and I enjoyed the nap of the little miss to make a bouquet and do my first open air shooting at home in the garden. It was very enjoyable! I decided to mix different flowers but to stick to one colour: purple. I really like monochrome bouquets - sticking to one colour and playing with shapes and palettes. I think, that way, you notice better the different colours of the scabiosa and of the heart of the anemone. For this bouquet, I chose:
- scabiosa
- veronica
- anemones
- eucalyptus (for the green touch)
You can see which is which in the picture underneath.
What about you? How do you like your bouquets? Do you like to go colourful or to stick to one main colour? I wish you all a great day! Elodie
madame love loves: les petites emplettes
Hello everyone! I hope you had a great week end! Time to relax and enjoy some time with your family. Today I would like to share another online shop crush I had lately. It is a French shop again called "les petites emplettes" - I love the natural style of their furnitures and objects. What do you think? Lovely and very French isn't it?

How to make the perfect mini bouquet with some mimosa
Hello everyone, As I told you yesterday, I would like to show you another way to use mimosa. Not at the opulent flower that can live on its own, but as a perfect flower for miniature bouquets. I love the combination with the blue hortensia. If you have many little vases, or even shot glasses, this can make a lovely table decoration with one individual mini bouquet in front of each plate.
So! What do you think? Do you prefer to go big or small with mimosa.
Have a great day! Elodie
mimosa from the market
Mimosa is such a happy flower. I love that in blooms in the middle of winter in the south of France. I decided to make this bouquet in a green art deco vase my mum gave me for my birthday in October. I love the contrast and the colour combination. I will show you later this week, how you can use mimosa in combination with other flowers for mini bouquets. I wish you all a great and sunny day, and if it's not sunny where you live, you can still buy some mimosa to brighten up your day. Take care and speak to you soon, Elodie

LOVEly Flowershop: Roses by Claire in Paris
Hello everyone! Today I would like to show you the lovely flowershop of my friend Claire - roses by claire - in Paris. I presented you her beautiful flower blog here. At the end of last year, she realised her dream of opening her own shop here in Paris. Those pictures look a bit Christmassy because I took them at the end of december. I will go back soon to show you the shop decorated for valentine's day. I wish you all a great day! Talk to you soon, Elodie

Lovely waxflowers
Hello everyone! Flowers are expensive in Paris. This is not a secret. So until my garden starts to properly bloom, I decided to make bouquets with some flowers I never arranged before (always exciting!). I found those waxflowers (also called Chamelaucium) on the market for only 6 € the bunch. I cut them very short and took out the leaves to make some mini bouquets with them and mixed them with some helebores and green from the garden. The waxflower originates from Australia and is very resistant. The name comes from the waxy feel of its petals. I like them and I think they are pretty suitable for mini bouquets and a pretty table decoration. What do you think?
lovely Teepee
Hello you! I am going to the Parisian interior fair Maison et Objet celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. I am very excited about the exhibitors from the children's world's sector and hope to see lots of new inspiration. One big trend I like at the moment in children's decoration are teepees. I like the simple white or grey ones that will still look elegant if you decide to put them in your living room and not in a bedroom. I love the fact that they can be used as a little reading nook and can be the starting point for a lot of beautiful stories.

#onebouquetperday by Juliane - flowers and elegance
Hello people! Do you remember that my blogpost from last year about my friend Juliane from the blog fröken skicklig, a German expat living in Sweden. When she moved to her new house in 2013, she decided to use Instagram and her love for pretty things to discover the flora in her new garden and surroundings. She set herself the challenge to do one bouquet everyday and post a photo of each of them on Instagram with the hashtag #onebouquetperday. She had quite a few followers and people would joined in 2014 and I even joined when I spent a month in France in May.
I am so looking forward to the 2015 edition and to see what bouquets she will come up with!
It's exactly the kind of bouquets and pictures I like:
simple, small, natural and wild.
In the collage above, you only see some of them and I love the moody compositions and the fact that you alway see Juliane's hands in the picture and that a great attention is paid to the colour of the background in each picture.
Have a nice day everyone. I am off to the design fair Maison & Objet. I will gather some impressions about the new collections of the interior brands I like and hopefully make some new discoveries. I will be meeting a lot of old friends this weekend anyway and I am really looking forward to it.
xoxo

madame love loves: Le repère des belettes
Hello everyone!I hope you are doing well! Here the sun is shinning a little bit more this morning and everything already feels easier. On top of that, the furniture trade show Maison & Objets is taking place and I am so excited about it. I will attend it and have the opportunity to meet up with lovely bloggers and stylists I met last spring in Pernes les Fontaines at the Joyeuse Clique styling workshop. Today I would like to tell you about this wonderfully curated French eshop called "RepèRe des BeleTtes" (the weasels' house) as part of my madame love loves series. This shop is much more than a virtual market place and all the objects are wonderfully styled, so you can easily imagine how they would look like in your home. The selection of objects (new as well as vintage) is very simple and really fit into the colour palette I like in decoration. A lot of grey and neutral hues. The lovely ladies running the RepèRe des BeleTtes are based near Paris, but they ship internationally and the site is also available in English. I wish you a great day! Elodie
first anemones of 2015 - first bouquet of the year
Good morning everyone! Here is my first bouquet for you this year. Thank you for your comments here and on Instagram about my 2014 bouquets. It gives me the energy to continue making them and sharing them with you here. I chose a simple multicolour bouquet of anemones. I also like the simplicity of white anemones but those little colourfull bouquets remind me of my childhood. I am still not really installed and settled in my new life and I have to fight quite a bit with several administrations in France and in Germany. I hope it will all be okay soon and I will find the way back to blog and to flower styling. I wish you all a great day! Elodie
my year 2014 with flowers
Hello my little flowers, 2014 has been a tough year in many ways. We so much wanted a change in the summer, that when the news came that my husband got a job in Paris, we decided to move countries within two months and organise everything while both working. We managed but those months before the move and the two months since we arrived have been exhausting and I haven't had much time for blogging. I have been a little hard on myself lateLx. I was not very proud of myself and about what I have been doing with the blog in the past months. But then, I decided to look back on 2014 and on the bouquets I made this year and I was pretty happy.
I made some little collages to show you my flowers from 2014 - A reason for me to look back at 2014 with a smile (the other reason is of course my lovely daughter) and to look forward to lots of new flowers in 2015.
Some of the bouquets I will show you made it to the blog, and some only to my kitchen table, but they all helped me to forget my little worries and express my creativity.
The first one on top are my wildflowers bouquets, I made them at my parent's place and at my parent's in laws place in May as well as in Italy in August. Those ones are my roses bouquets - with roses from the market in Hamburg, from the flower shops and roses from my mum's garden.
Those ones are my pink bouquets - I don't like pink in decoration or in fashion, but I use this colour a lot for my bouquets - with my lovely tulips I picked in a flower farm in Holland, or some hellebores from my parent's garden.
Those ones are my blue bouquets. Blue is a more unusual colour in nature and looks always very pretty in a vase. I love to combine blue and yellow flowers. The first little bouquet is a simple bouquet of myosotis, I made in May in France. They are so precious and so lovely to photograph. The one on the bottom left, I really love with the white lilies and the blue delphiniums.
Here are my red bouquets. I love to combine red with pink and I love red roses, red carnation and red anemones that look and feel like silk.
Those are probably my favorite: Flowers from the garden! My favourite bouquet this year was probably this one.
And last but not least: My mini bouquets. I love everything miniature. I love mini vases. And I love making a mini version of a bigger bouquet.
I wish you all a very relaxing Christmas time with you family and friends.
What about you? What do you see about 2014 when you look back? How as been you year with family, with friends, with travels, with your favourite designers, with your favourite cookies... If you want to tell me, just create a little collage with your 2014 highlights and tag me on Instagram (@madame_love) and use the hashtag #myyear2014with
Speak to you soon, Elodie
hortensia in winter
I took those pictures of dried and wet hydrangea at my parent's place last week end as well. Beauty can really be everywhere and hydrangea truly are very versatile flowers and can be pretty all year long. I wish you all a great afternoon. Elodie
A misty day in the North of France and my first Steller story
Hello everyone, I spent last week end at my parents' place and it was very misty cold and wet. I stopped raining for a little bit on Sunday morning and I went out with my camera and my niece and took those pictures. I wanted to show you how beautiful a garden can be even a less attractive season, when everything is grey or brown and almost nothing is blooming.
I also took my iphone with me and made a Steller Story out of it - Steller is an Iphone storytelling App, and I love it. It was my fist story but definitely not the last one. My user name is madame_love - you can follow me here.
Have a great day! Elodie
